Library & School District Team Up To Host Little Libraries

Greenfield Library, along with the School District of Greenfield, are host to Little Libraries stationed on the grounds of Maple Grove, Elm Dale and Edgewood Elementary Schools, with a fourth Little Library scheduled to be installed in early summer at Glenwood Elementary.  Little Libraries make free, age appropriate books available to local children to take home, read, and then return to the Little Library.

A book donation program sponsored by Greenfield Public Library to help support the Little Libraries will begin on Sunday, April 15th.  The Kick-Off Event for this program will be a special “Where the Wild Things Are” themed story time with a craft at 3:00 PM in the Library Community Room.

There will also be a Scholastic Book Fair for those interested in purchasing books.  Books purchased at the book fair, and children’s books in good condition brought from home, may be donated to supply the Little Libraries with materials.  The Scholastic Book Fair will continue in the library for several weeks and will be followed by an Usborne Book Fair.   All donated books will benefit the Little Libraries and all monetary donations will be used to purchase books for the Little Libraries.
