A Celebration of Greenfield Arts at the Library


On Saturday, August 18th, Greenfield Public Library will be hosting A Celebration of Greenfield Artsan outdoor art fair, along with hands-on painting and floral design workshops and musical performances in the Children's Garden.

  • Local artists and crafters will offer their work for sale throughout the day from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
  • Local musicians will perform in the garden throughout the day.
  • Local bakery and beverages available for purchase.
  • Greenfield High School Honors Art Club students will offer crafts for sale.
  • At 10:00 AM in the Community room, there will be a free hands-on acrylics on canvas painting workshop "Fun Fruits and Veggies: Farmers Market as Inspiration" led by Deborah Brooks, Chair of the Greenfield High School Art Department.
  • From 11:00 AM-1:00 PM outdoors under a tent, there will be free origami instruction. Fair visitors are invited to join the Alzheimer's Association volunteers to help fold some purple paper cranes. These hundreds of paper cranes will be combined to create a community work of art.
  • From 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM in the Community Room, there will be a free hands-on floral design workshop led by a designer from Grandpa Frank's Flower Market. 
  • From 1:00 -3:00 PM in the Community Room, there will be a hands-on oil painting workshop "Paint 'N Sip" led by local artist Beth Stoddard, courtesy of "Farmhouse Paint & Sip". Registration is required for this program, and the cost to participate is $10.00.

The art fair launches a fundraiser entitled GREENFIELD CREATES: Help us make something beautiful! This crowdfunding campaign can be found on the platform. Donations will also be accepted at the Library Check-out Desk. The campaign runs through November 2018. All proceeds will go toward the purchase of commissioned artwork to enhance the atrium and children's library.
