I was just in Austin, Texas, and they have no plastic bags in stores in the city. Customers need to either bring their own cloth bags or purchase paper bags for 10 cents. Could this be started in Greenfield? When I came back from vacation and went to a big box store, I was taken aback when I was walking down by the end of the check out lanes. The sheer number of bags that will end up in the landfill was breathtaking. In the mean time, could the city set up an easier to use, more wide spread, plastic bag recycling option?
