The File of Life is a free service sponsored by the Greenfield Fire Department. The File of Life is a red plastic magnetic file folder that attaches to your refrigerator. The file contains vitally important information about you to provide for more accurate medial treatment, including:
- Emergency contact persons
- Medications you're taking
- Medical problems
- Insurance information
- Your physician's name
- Your preferred hospital
The bright red and white File of Life sticker should be placed on your front door, on your "Neighborhood Watch" sign, or any other obvious location. This alerts emergency responders to look for your personal File of Life on your refrigerator door. The personal size File of Life can be carried in your wallet or purse so that you may take the life-saving information with you.
You can pick up any of the File of Life materials at either Fire Department location or at City Hall in the Park and Recreation office.
