The Community Service Officers (CSO) program is designed to enhance service delivery by using nonsworn personnel to handle minor calls for service. This allows us to enhance the safety and security of all citizens while providing CSOs with a practical learning experience in law enforcement. Contact Captain Ray Radakovich for more information.
Applications are being accepted for this paid, part‐time, non‐sworn opportunity ($14.00/hour). The CSO position provides an opportunity to gain practical experience while pursuing your education. The ultimate goal of the CSO program is to prepare students for a career in law enforcement.
Some of the duties include:
Assistance at crash and crime scenes
Non‐emergency calls for service
Other general tasks as needed
High school diploma and valid driver’s license
Currently enrollment in a program of study at an accredited technical school, college, or university with an emphasis in police science, criminal justice, criminology or law enforcement related study
Ability to work flexible hours (with accommodations for attending school)
Pass a background investigation
