Captain Robert Austin began his career with the Greenfield Police Department in 2004. During his time as a patrol officer, he served in variety of assignments before being promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 2016. He is a certified instructor and currently serves as the Department’s training coordinator and manages the property and evidence rooms. He manages the training programs for Female Awareness and Survival Training (F.A.S.T) and Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE).
Captain Austin holds an Associate’s Degree in Police Science from the Milwaukee Area Technical College and a Bachelor’s Degree in Leadership in Public Service with a minor in Business Management with Summa Cum Laude honors from the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay. He is a graduate of the Northwestern University Supervision of Police Personnel, the International Chiefs of Police Leadership in Police Organizations program, the FBI LEEDA Trilogy of Leadership courses and recently graduated 1st in his class from the Northwestern University School of Staff and Command. He has won numerous awards from the Greenfield Police Department as well as the United States Secret Service, the Wisconsin Narcotics Officer Association and Aurora Healthcare for excellent work as both a patrol officer and a sergeant.
